Over at the Reformation21 blog, Rick Phillips has posted his first-hand assessment of the CBA’s (now ICRA) display of the “lamentable state of the evangelical movement,” it’s marketing over ministry emphasis, etc.
In a nutshell, he was: 1.) encouraged at the few publishers who are offering good material, 2.) surprised at the blatantness of the emphasis on marketing and making money, 3.) disheartened at how low the commitment is to biblical theology, 4.) struck by the Christlessness of the convention – it’s all about you, 5.) sickened by a t-shirt, 6.) shocked by the sensuality and sex, 7.) glad to see that one book series has come to an end.
